Magazines

All the publications are inspirational. There are no how-tos.

Selvage This is the best magazine about fabrics and yarns. Carefully written short articles with excellent illustrations about the fiber traditions from all over the world. Published in UK. It is pricey, but it is well-worth the money.
The only fault I can find with Selvage that its visuals go sometimes overboard: a lot of color, but image content does not follow the story.

Textile The Australian textile magazine have very little about knitting, but a lot of works by fiber artists. Mostly Australian.

American Craft In its magazine American American Craft Council features high-quality artwork by the American craftsmen. Great and relevant photography. Once in a while the fiber artists are featured, but the magazine is about the overall trends in professional crafts.

Womankind – a different kind of magazine for women based in Australia. Nothing about kitchen, cleaning, kids, cosmetics, best bras on market, etc. etc., but plenty about creative people, creative living and expanding the intellectual horizons. No ads. About Us page starts with the quote from Louise Hay: “The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives.”
